No, we don't allow multiple owners running with one single license. To be honest we are quite into the fair use stuff, so if the same installation running a Network license is used by 2 people or maybe 3 we will just pretend we didn't saw anything. Happens all the time, maybe you get this and setup another install for a family member, a close friend, etc. We don't feel harm in those cases, we are OK in those cases.

Problem is when we saw multiple owners (we have saw up to 32 different owners tied to one single license) so we have to cut it off, that's not fair use at all and main problem is when one of those 32 leaks the software and in that case we must ban the license.

So if we think that is fair use we won't say anything and you will be able to keep running Chevereto.

WHOIS is just only one of the data sources that we use to determine ownership. We don't just rely in that, we have to mix data sources like historical whois data, server IPs, regchanges, etc.

We also do stuff that I won't disclose here (nothing illegal) and it doesn't involve backdoors or anything like that. Chevereto doesn't include backdoors at all, is just that I don't want to disclose all our tricks.

We audit licenses from time to time, we rely in whois data and other mechanisms to determine that a given license is tied to one single owner and not a bunch of people. Is easier than you think.
